Can you tell us something about yourself?

I was born and raised in Norway, where my love for movement began early. As a child, I was active in various sports, including football, horse riding, athletics, snowboarding and skiing. Movement was not just a hobby for me – it was a way of life. My path to a career as a physiotherapist, however, was not a straight line. After graduating with a degree in Fine Arts and one in International Development and Political Science, I had an experience that profoundly changed my perspective on the human body and its ability to heal.

In 2008, an accident forced me to temporarily stop working and focus on rehabilitation. The road to recovery was long and challenging, with multiple surgeries, countless hours with physical therapists and the process of learning to walk again. During this physically and emotionally demanding period, I not only regained my mobility, but also discovered the importance of physical therapy in regaining independence, building self-confidence and rediscovering the joy of movement.

My own experience sparked a passion to help others overcome their physical challenges. After studying Sports Science and becoming a trainer, I chose a career in physiotherapy and earned my degree here in Amsterdam. My personal journey has given me a deep empathy for my patients, as well as a keen insight into the physical and mental obstacles that come with recovery.

Today, I take a comprehensive, evidence-based approach to my work. I work closely with my patients to identify the underlying cause of their symptoms and create customized treatment plans to restore function, relieve pain, and improve overall quality of life.
Whether I’m helping someone rehab from cancer, recover from a sports injury, manage a chronic condition, or regain mobility after surgery, my goal is always to empower my patients to move with confidence and enjoy life to the fullest. My work extends beyond rehabilitation to educating my patients on prevention strategies and sustainable movement practices so they have the tools to maintain their long-term health and well-being.

My personal journey has shown me that physical therapy is more than just treatment – it is a partnership built on trust, empowerment and a shared commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes. I strive to help each patient discover the freedom and joy of pain-free movement.
