Can you tell us something about your treatment style?

You have to be free in your actions. I find that important in my life, but also as a physiotherapist. I also do not see a client as someone with a complaint, but as someone with a life who must be able to fill that life freely and without physical limitations. No complaint is therefore the same. After all, a knee complaint means something different to one person than to another.

I use this personal approach for everyone who ends up in my practice. Together we take the time to determine what has the most impact on someone’s complaints and daily life. Then it is of course important to determine how this can get a place in someone’s (busy) life. In that sense I am mainly a coach, I support you to tackle your physical problems and get the best out of yourself and your time.

For me, fitness is not just something you do with a weight in front of the mirror. What I try to convey is the pleasure in movement, just challenging enough that it is especially fun. A large part of sports physiotherapy is focused on resolving injuries, but as a sports physiotherapist I also help people to get back to their old or even a higher sports level. Think of things like jumping power, agility and improving speed or endurance. Most of my clients are serious about their body and performance, but I also really enjoy guiding someone to their first five kilometer run or helping them prepare for the ski season. So I also see a lot of people who are not injured at all but want to prevent an injury or want to improve in their sport. So you don’t have to have an injury to make an appointment with me!

I also consider myself sporty, I like running and strength training. When I have time, I prefer to be outside, in nature. Even riding a motorcycle or walking. A feeling of freedom. An introvert like me sometimes really needs that rest to fully recharge.
