I was born and raised in Italy. I have been passionate about sports since my teenage years. I started with swimming and gymnastics, and then kickboxing. When I was seventeen, I sustained a knee injury and went through a long period of inactivity, during which my participation in social life was also temporarily limited. During my rehabilitation, I met many other sports enthusiasts and physiotherapists. That environment helped me enormously to return to my daily life. That is why I decided to study physiotherapy, to help other people who experience similar physical and social limitations.
During my studies, I participated in two exchange programs abroad. This sparked a strong interest in travel and in other languages and cultures. After completing my specialization in orthopedic rehabilitation and manual therapy in Italy, I began studying Dutch. A year later, I moved to the Netherlands.
In my treatments, I opt for an active approach. I believe that strength training and active movement are important for restoring confidence in one’s own body. Additionally, I find it important to listen carefully to my patients so that I can understand their goals as well as possible and tailor my treatment accordingly. I believe it is important for people to first become aware of their bodies and their way of moving, and subsequently gain more control over their movements. When the fear of movement diminishes, we can work together to improve the activities that are important to them.
My areas of interest are orthopedic rehabilitation and manual therapy. I have experience treating chronic conditions, such as neck and back pain, and overuse injuries, such as tendinopathies. During my specialization, I developed a particular interest in jaw, neck, and orofacial complaints. What fascinates me most is the strong connection between these complex body areas and the precision and planning required for treatment. I would like to further develop my skills within this field in the Netherlands and pursue a Master’s degree in the future.
