I have always believed in a holistic approach and have been interested in the Eastern way of thinking. I would like to make a connection between regular care and complementary care and believe that they complement each other well and complete each other.
Nowadays you can go to a specialist for every complaint, but by focusing on one thing, you lose the overview of the whole. I look beyond the complaint itself. Maybe there is an underlying problem that needs attention. And acupuncture is perfect for that. I am not saying that specialists are not good. As far as I am concerned, it is both and: focus on the problem and look at the bigger picture.
A good example is tension headaches and migraines. When these complaints cannot be completely resolved with physiotherapy, acupuncture is a good addition.
One of my specialties is femininity. Take menstrual complaints. Menstruation is a time when your body asks you to take it easy and let go. It is a cleansing, actually a very beautiful ritual of your body. Here in the West, this is often overlooked; you only have to look at a tampon commercial to see that. Of course, it is fine if you have as much energy as usual, but usually that is not the case. If you do not listen to your body, menstrual-related complaints can worsen – think of headaches, stomach aches, mood swings. The energy stagnates. With acupuncture you can remove the blockages.
You won’t be the first, you know. First of all, they are very thin needles and I prepare you calmly for what is to come. First, I press briefly on the spot where I am going to insert the needle then we do a breathing exercise. Usually it slides in easily and you are already a lot less anxious for the second one. Furthermore, I stay with you the whole time and I give you a massage or we meditate during the treatment. I take good care of you and help you through it!
I love being in nature. I try to go to the beach at least twice a month and walk in the park as often as possible.
